   বঙ্গানুবাদ   

 

       বঙ্গানুবাদ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষার একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বিষয়।  এখানে একটি ইংরেজি পেসেজ দেওয়া থাকে ,সেটিকে  বাংলায় অনুবাদ করতে হয়। অনুবাদ করার সময়  পরীক্ষার্থীদের অবশ্যই মনে রাখতে হবে অনুবাদটি যেন  আক্ষরিক অনুবাদ না হয়। এটি ঠিক ভাবে অনুবাদ করতে  পারলে সম্পূর্ণ নাম্বার পাওয়া যায়। বিগত ২০০৫ সাল থেকে ২০২২ সাল পর্যন্ত যে সমস্ত বঙ্গানুবাদ মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষায় এসেছে, সেগুলি এক জায়গায় করে দেওয়া হল।

 

           মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা-২০০৫    

🔴 Once on a summer day a poor cap-seller was going to a fair for selling caps. Being tired he sat under the shade of a tree leaving behind him his basket containing caps. The gentle breeze made him drowsy and soon he fell asleep. After a while he suddenly woke up and was surprised to find that there was not a single cap left in the basket. Then he began to cry.

 

👉  একদা এক গ্রীষ্মের দিনে একজন গরিব টুপি-বিক্রেতা টুপি বিক্রি করবার জন্য মেলায় যাচ্ছিল। ক্লান্ত হয়ে, টুপি ভর্তি ঝুড়িটি পেছনে রেখে সে একটা গাছের ছায়ায় বসল। মৃদুমন্দ বাতাস তাকে তন্দ্রাচ্ছন্ন করল এবং শীঘ্রই সে ঘুমিয়ে পড়ল। কিছুক্ষণ পরে সে হঠাৎ জেগে উঠল এবং অবাক হয়ে দেখল যে তার ঝুড়িতে একটিও টুপি নেই। তখন সে কাঁদতে লাগল।

🔴 Once a soldier was made a prisoner of war. After a few years the war ended and he was released. One day while he was walking near a market he saw a bird-seller with a cage full of birds for sale. The soldier bought the cage and then set all the birds free one by one. When the people around asked him about his strange behaviour he replied “I know the agony of captivity”.

 

👉 একদা এক সৈনিক যুদ্ধবন্দি হয়েছিলেন। কয়েক বছর পরে যুদ্ধ শেষ হল এবং তিনি ছাড়া পেলেন। একদিন যখন তিনি একটা বাজারের কাছ দিয়ে হেঁটে যাচ্ছিলেন, তখন বিক্রির জন্য খাঁচাভরা পাখিসহ একজন পাখিবিক্রেতাকে তিনি দেখতে পেলেন। সৈনিক খাঁচাটি কিনে নিলেন এবং তারপর একে একে সব পাখিকে মুক্ত করে দিলেন। যখন তার চারপাশের লােকজন তার এই অদ্ভুত আচরণের ব্যাপারে জানতে চাইল, তখন তিনি উত্তর দিলেন, “বন্দিদশার যন্ত্রণা আমি জানি”।

 

                  মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা-২০০৭

 

🔴 One day Sir Isaac Newton went out of his room leaving on the table a heap of papers containing his long research on the theory of light. There was on the floor of the room lying his pet dog, Diamond. No sooner had he gone than the dog jumped upon the table and upturned the lighted candle and the papers immediately caught fire. Returning after a few minutes Newton found that all his hard labour of twenty years had been reduced to ashes. But the great scientist patted the dog on the head exclaiming, “Oh, Diamond, you don’t know what you have done!”

 

👉 একদিন স্যার আইজ্যাক নিউটন তাঁর টেবিলের ওপর আলােকত্ত্ব সম্পর্কিত দীর্ঘ গবেষণার প্রচুর কাগজ রেখে ঘরের বাইরে যান। ঘরের মেঝেতে তাঁর পােষা কুকুর ডায়মণ্ড শুয়েছিল। তাঁর যাওয়া মাত্রই কুকুরটি লাফ দিয়ে টেবিলের ওপর উঠল এবং জ্বলন্ত মোমবাতিটি উল্টে দিল এবং সঙ্গে সঙ্গে কাগজগুলিতে আগুন লেগে গেল। কয়েক মিনিট পরে ফিরে এসে নিউটন দেখেন যে তাঁর কুড়ি বছরের কঠিন পরিশ্রমের সমস্তকিছু ছাইয়ে পরিণত হয়েছে। কিন্তু মহান বিজ্ঞানী কুকুরটির মাথায় হাত দিয়ে আদর করে বিস্ময়ের সুরে বললেন, ‘ডায়মণ্ড তুমি জান না, তুমি কী করেছ’।

🔴 Once two friends started on a travel. Their way lay through a forest. As they came half way through the forest, a bear was seen approaching slowly towards them. One of them climbed up a tree. The other did not know how to climb up a tree and lay flat on his face without breathing.

 

👉 একদা দুই বন্ধু ভ্রমণে বের হল। তাদের পথটি ছিল এক জঙ্গলের ভেতর দিয়ে। যখন তারা জঙ্গলের মধ্য দিয়ে অর্ধেক পথ এসেছে, তখন একটা ভালুককে তাদের দিকে ধীরগতিতে এগিয়ে আসতে দেখা গেল। তাদের মধ্যে একজন একটা গাছে উঠে পড়ল। অন্যজন গাছে উঠতে জানত না, তাই সে নিঃশ্বাস বন্ধ করে উপুড় হয়ে মাটিতে শুয়ে পড়ল।

🔴 Man is a social animal. He cannot live alone. No person can be happy without having sincere friends. But selfish persons fail to make real friendship. Because to get love you must give love in return. 

 

👉 মানুষ একটি সামাজিক প্রাণী। সে একা থাকতে পারে না। আন্তরিক বন্ধু ছাড়া কোনও ব্যক্তি সুখী হতে পারে না। কিন্তু স্বার্থপর ব্যক্তিরা প্রকৃত বন্ধুত্ব তৈরি করতে ব্যর্থ হয়। কারণ ভালোবাসা পেতে হলে তোমাকেও বিনিময়ে ভালোবাসা দিতে হবে।

🔴 We should try to prosper in life. But we should not give up our sense of morality. If we compromise with dishonesty, it would be difficult for us to respect ourselves. So it is important to choose the right way. No person can be happy without having sincere friends.

👉 আমাদের জীবনে উন্নতির জন্য চেষ্টা করা উচিত। কিন্তু আমাদের নৈতিকতা বোধ ত্যাগ করা উচিত নয়। আমরা যদি অসততার সঙ্গে আপোষ করি, তাহলে আমাদের নিজেদেরকে সন্মান করা কঠিন হয়ে দাঁড়াবে। সুতরাং সঠিক পথ নির্বাচন করাটা জরুরি। অন্তরঙ্গ বন্ধু ছাড়া কোনো মানুষ সুখী হতে পারে না।

🔴 Newspaper reading has become an essential part of our life. As we get up in the morning, we wait eagerly for the daily paper. Twentieth century was an age of newspapers. Through newspapers we gather information about different countries of the world.

👉 খবরের কাগজ পড়া আমাদের জীবনের অপরিহার্য অঙ্গ হয়ে উঠেছে। সকালে ঘুম থেকে উঠেই আমরা আগ্রহের সঙ্গে দৈনিক খবরের কাগজের জন্য অপেক্ষা করি। বিংশ শতাব্দী ছিল সংবাদপত্রের যুগ। খবরের কাগজের মাধ্যমে আমরা পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের সংবাদ সংগ্রহ করি।

🔴 Home is the first school where the child learns his first lesson. He sees, hears and begins to learn at home. It is home that builds his character. In a good home honest and healthy men are made. Bad influence at home spoils a child.

👉 গৃহই হল প্রথম বিদ্যালয় যেখানে শিশু তার প্রথম পাঠ গ্রহণ করে। সে দেখে, শুনে এবং গৃহেই শিখতে শুরু করে। উত্তম গৃহে সৎ এবং স্বাস্থ্যবান মানুষ তৈরি হয়। গৃহের কুপ্রভাব একটি শিশুকে নষ্ট করে দেয়।

🔴 There were once two friends-a lion and a bear. One day they went out in search of food. They were very lucky to find out a dead deer lying in the forest. They were selfish friends. So each of them demanded full share of the dead animal. They could not reach any settlement. Then, there was a fight between the two.

👉 কোনো এক সময় একটি সিংহ এবং একটি ভালুক- দুজনে বন্ধু ছিল। একদিন তারা খাদ্যের সন্ধানে বের হল। তারা খুব ভাগ্যবান ছিল, বনের মধ্যে একটা মৃত হরিণকে (তারা) পড়ে থাকতে দেখল। তারা ছিল স্বার্থপর বন্ধু। সেইজন্য তারা দু’জনেই মৃত পশুটির সম্পূর্ণ অংশ দাবি করল। তারা কোনাে মীমাংসায় পৌছাতে পারল না। তখন তাদের দু’জনের মধ্যে লড়াই শুরু হয়ে গেল।

🔴 There was a shepherd boy. Everyday he would go up the hill to graze the sheep herd. One day, just to have fun he shouted, “Wolf! Help! Wolf! Help!” Down the hill, the farmers were working in their field. They heard his cry to help and at once rushed to the boy.

👉 এক যে ছিল রাখাল বালক। প্রতিদিন সে পাহাড়ের উপরে ভেড়ার পালকে চরাতে যেত। একদিন সে, নেহাতই মজা পাওয়ার জন্য, চিৎকার করে উঠল, “নেকড়ে! বাঁচাও! নেকড়ে! বাঁচাও।” পাহাড়ের নীচে চাষিরা মাঠে কাজ করছিল। তারা তার সাহায্যের আর্তি শুনল এবং সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সেই বালকের কাছে ছুটে এল।

                  মাধ্যমিক পরীক্ষা-২০১৫

🔴 Once two women were quarrelling about the claim of a child. They went to the judge for justice. The judge called the executioner and ordered, “Cut the child into two halves and give one half to each of the women.” One of the women when she heard the order, remained silent! but the other woman began to weep.

👉 একদা দু’জন মহিলা একটি শিশুর ওপর অধিকারের দাবিতে ঝগড়া করতে করতে ন্যায়বিচারের জন্য একজন বিচারকের কাছে গেল। বিচারক ঘাতককে ডেকে আদেশ দিলেন, “শিশুটাকে দুখণ্ড করে কেটে ফেল এবং প্রত্যেককে একটি করে খণ্ড দিয়ে দাও”। তাদের মধ্যে একজন এই আদেশ শুনে চুপ করে থাকল; কিন্তু অপর মহিলাটি কাঁদতে শুরু করল।

🔴 Once there was a beautiful princess. When her mother died the king married another lady who had a magic mirror. The mirror said, ‘Queen ! you are beautiful but the princess is more beautiful than you.

👉 একদা এক সুন্দর রাজকন্যা ছিল। যখন তার মা মারা গেলেন তখন রাজা আরও এক ভদ্রমহিলাকে বিয়ে করলেন, যার যাদু আয়না ছিল। আয়না বলল, ‘রানী! আপনি সুন্দর তবে রাজকন্যা আপনার চেয়েও বেশি সুন্দর।

🔴 One day a dog stole a piece of meat from a butcher shop. He was crossing over a bridge. Suddenly, he saw his own shadow in the water. He thought that there was another dog and he had a bigger piece of meat.

👉 একদিন একটি কুকুর একটি কসাইখানা থেকে একটুকরো মাংস চুরি করল। সে একটি সেতু পার হচ্ছিল। হঠাৎ সে জলে তার নিজের ছায়া দেখতে পেল। সে ভাবল ওটা আরেকটা কুকুর এবং তার কাছে আরো বড় মাংসের টুকরো রয়েছে।

🔴 The teachers are regarded as the backbone of the society. They build the future citizens of country. They love students as their children. The teachers always encourage and inspire us to be good and great in life.

👉 শিক্ষকদেরকে সমাজের মেরুদণ্ড হিসাবে গণ্য করা হয়।  তারা দেশের ভবিষ্যৎ নাগরিকদের গড়ে তোলেন।  তারা ছাত্রদের নিজের সন্তানের মতো ভালবাসেন। শিক্ষকরা সর্বদাই আমাদের উত্তম ও মহৎ হতে উৎসাহিত এবং অনুপ্রাণিত করেন।

🔴 One day a fox was going beside the vine yard. He saw the ripe grapes hanging from a vine. He jumped but did not reach it. Because they were beyond his reach.

👉 একদিন একটি শিয়াল আঙ্গুর বাগানের পাশ দিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। সে দেখল একটি আঙ্গুরলতা থেকে পাকা আঙ্গুর ঝুলছে। সে লাফ দিল কিন্তু পৌঁছাতে পারল না। কারণ তারা তার নাগালের বাইরে ছিল।
